So... It's been on my mind for a while, but I need to show I can draw in more styles. So far I have realism, western comic books, and manga (ish) for chibis. Now i'm trying to get more into western comics.

Cartoon people to follow shortly.

I tried to express a different emotion in each one. Geniality, Sly, Coy, Sass, etc.

I have to say-- if you know someone who can draw cartoons, give them props. Just because they are simplified in no way makes them easy to draw. For every animal here there are several little woodland abominations. :D all part of the experiments-- I mean, learning process. Yes.

uh, so because I frequent a forum called Something Awful, one of their subforums is called creative convention, which is here they have their art and artist related forums. Well, one of the threads is called Draw me, draw you. Me? You? Etc. Basically, someone posts a drawing or painting of someone on the forum, and afterwards posts a picture of themselves to be drawn by someone else. This is my rendition of forum poster Westborn.

Edit: As an arsonist. :D

Art Dump

I realize looking at this blog that although I have been working steadily (and recently graduated) I haven't updated this one as often as I have updated my portfolio blog (linked to the right) so, here is an art dump of some stuff I've worked on.

Character Sketches

As many of you may or may not know, I participate in a bi-monthly D&D group using the new Pathfinder rules. With much prodding of my group members, I managed to get enough of a physical description going to draw out everyone's characters, so we could print them. The back stories here are not set in concrete, but they did seem to fit with how the participants were playing. Gav, our lovely DM was absolutely thrilled with how they turned out.

In Progress

Here's an in progress pic of a dancer character. She fights with swift hand to hand- focusing on throws and counters. Her dress is a light blue with a tan/goldeny white skirt, and deep deep indigo stockings and upper bodice.

free time

I sorta don't wanna work on this anymore. Now that school started I won't have as much free time... Oh well...

Here's a closeup of a face I was working on
